Harrow project
All summer, we've been running a campaign in Harrow to tackle stigma within the South Asian community. How can you get involved?....

New materials for Harrow - ongoing
New Time to Change leaflets and posters, as well as cards with information about services in Harrow. Available free of charge in English, Tamil and Gujurati.
Could you... order some and distribute them to public places near you?
Time to Change roadshow at Under One Sky – 26 June
We took the Time to Change roadshow to Under One Sky to get people talking about mental health.
Community events - ongoing
We have been taking part in existing events and also taking Time to Change to venues including temples and community centres in Harrow throughout the summer. Time to Change volunteers will be going along to the events with the new materials.
Could you... order some materials and have a Time to Change stall at an event in your community?
Volunteers getting people talking at social groups - ongoing
Time to Change volunteers have also been going along to social groups to spend half an hour getting people thinking and talking about mental health and pass on some free Time to Change materials.
Advertising and media - ongoing
We have run advertorials in Harrow Observer, Garavi Gujarat, Maya, Gujarat Samachar and Asian Voice. These feature people talking about their experiences of mental health problems. See an example here.
Could you... share your experiences in an advertorial or media interview?
Raksha Bandhan – 13 August
We’ll created a Time to Change rakhi for Raksha bandhan, which was available free across Harrow. We also ran advertorials and PR featuring siblings experiences of mental health problems.
Could you... help us distribute the Time to Change rakhis?
Arts week – August
We ran a day of arts activities in St George's shopping centre on Saturday 27 August, getting the whole community involved. And on Tuesday 30 August we held a special screening of the film 'Open Secrets' directed by Azeem Khan, about stigma within a British Asian family.
