Education Not Discrimination: Rethinking Mental Health

Education Not Discrimination (END) is the element of Time To Change that targets key audiences who have a significant impact on the lives of people with mental health problems.

END is one of six national projects within the Time to Change portfolio and it will be managed and delivered by Rethink.

We are working with the following audiences: medical school students, GP surgery staff, trainee secondary school teachers and educational professionals (including trainee headteachers, teachers, school social inclusion officers. special educational needs officers and all school staff with a pastoral care remit).

END Involvement Workers

END trains and employs an England-wide bank of Involvement Workers, who are all people with lived experience of mental health issues - either as service uers or as carers or relatives of service users.

Involvement Workers are trained and supported to speak publicly about their experiences in a way that is targeted to the needs of the audience in question. They undergo training in facilitation and presentation skills and benefit from ongoing support and development. They are paid an hourly rate for their work.

END Involvement Workers are available for public speaking and training events. If you would like to employ an Involvement Worker, or if you would like to become an Involvement Worker, then contact Maya Albert (END Officer) at maya.albert@rethink.org
