Time to Change hosted a skill sharing event for people working in drama and soaps. The evening was aimed at helping writers think about how they can create compelling and accurate portrayals of mental health in their work.
BAFTA and Emmy award winning Danny Brocklehurst and top soap writer Bill Lyons and Dana Fainaru were among the contributors on the night
The event was aimed at researchers, writers, producers and editors. It offered participants a space to learn more about mental health problems by meeting people with direct experience and hearing their stories, along with insider tips from top speakers in the soaps and drama industry.
Danny Brocklehurst was our key speaker of the evening. Danny has been critically acclaimed for television drama series such as Shameless, Clocking off, Exile and Accused. The evening was chaired by Kate Rowland, the BBC’s Creative Director of New Writing.
