What’s your story?
As part of the fight to end discrimination it’s important to celebrate the positive and constructive ways people have found to tackle prejudice and raise awareness.
In the Experiences and Views section of this website you'll find the Stories and video's sections. These are an online collection of material, in which people with experience of mental health problems talk about how they have dealt with discrimination.
On these pages you can hear from people who have challenged discrimination in their everyday lives. Our stories come from people who’ve been at the receiving end of mental health discrimination and are in the contributor’s own words – because we believe that stories are more powerful when they come straight from the mouths of the people who know.
There are many different ways of challenging discrimination, from speaking out to your family and friends to campaigning for better mental health services. And a story doesn’t just have to be something written down – it could be a spoken piece, a cartoon, video, poem or even a song. We work with our contributors to help them find the way of telling their story that works best for them.
