About The PhysicALL Project

PhysicALL aims to help people with mental health issues in Bedfordshire and Luton get out of the house and enjoy various forms of exercise to improve their mental health. The PhysicALL team offers support, motivation and opportunities to improve well-being by kick-starting a choice of activities, which include: • gym • badminton • swimming • walking • kickboxing • salsa • allotment gardening • ten-pin bowling • bocchai Clients are encouraged to make their own way to the venue and all activities have to be paid for by the client. Bedfordshire and Luton Mind hopes people who get involved in the project will: • experience increased well-being, aiding their recovery • gain better access to community facilities and activities • gain more confidence through increased self-esteem • have a wider circle of friends • be socially included, breaking down stigma and discrimination. How to get involved Access to the PhysicALL project is by self-referral or referral from a health professional or other support worker. An initial meeting will be arranged so the client can sign up for six sessions of activity where a PhysicALL worker will support them to help their confidence. Activity times are variable as per the appointment times arranged by project workers. PhysicALL has three Project Workers covering Luton, South Bedfordshire and Mid and North Bedfordshire.
