World Mental Health Day
World Mental Health Day 2012 was on Wednesday 10th October. This year's theme was "Depression: A Global Crisis". We celebrated World Mental Health day with an event in Liverpool - former European Capital of Culture and the world capital city of pop.

What is World Mental Health Day?
The World Health Organisation describe the day as:
World Mental Health Day raises public awareness about mental health issues. The day promotes open discussion of mental disorders, and investments in prevention, promotion and treatment services. This year the theme for the day is “Depression: A Global Crisis”.

There are loads of events going on to celebrate World Mental Health Day 2012:
Over 50 organisations in Newcastle are gathering for an event to challenge stigma around mental health with poets, singers and musicians.
Plymouth University are holding an awareness day with artistic workshops, recreational and sporting activities and the opportunity to talk with a host of experts
The Mental Health Foundation are encouraing people to hold Tea and talk events
There will be a week-long programme of events and activities for the public to take part in Inverclyde.
BipolarUK are hosting a lunchtime welcome in all of their offices across the UK.
