Can you help us challenge discrimination?
A case to Challenge
As part of the Time to Change campaign, Mind is leading a project called Time to Challenge.
The law is intended to protect disabled people from being discriminated against but sometimes it doesn’t seem to work. The aim of Time to Challenge is to help people with mental health issues, who experience discrimination, to challenge how the law is being interpreted – to make sure that it protects them in the way that it should.
Have you been discriminated against:
- when looking for work – have you been asked health questions at interview?
- because attitudes change as soon as you mentioned that you had depression?
- at work, by being treated badly for a reason linked to your disability?
- outside of employment, have you had difficulties due to your disability when buying goods or using services?
Tell us your story by emailing legalunit@mind.org.uk
If your issue cannot be taken on as a test case you can still stand up to discrimination. These organisations may be able to offer support.
- ACAS- discrimination advice and ACAS helpline for both employers and employees who are involved in an employment dispute or are seeking information on employment rights and rules.
