Starcare Ltd Starcare in Chester are dedicated to promoting independence and providing a service that enables individuals to achieve a life without labels. Starcare in Chester are dedicated to promoting independence and providing a service that enables individuals to achieve a life without labels. We are working towards a future where people see the individual not the illness. Starcare understand that with years of working with people who have mental health issues, it can very often be the case that, with a diagnosis comes a label. Within Starcare the philosophy is that a person should be treated with dignity and respect at all times, regardless of illness or condition. Supporting people to empower them on their journey of recovery and to achieve their individual outcomes that are important to them, is paramount to us. It’s time to change the stigma that is involved with a mental health diagnosis – for good! Through talking to our dedicated staff about the importance of the time to change pledge, we encourage them to sign it with their own thoughts and experiences. The discrimination that people suffer as a result of mental illness can be even worse than the symptoms themselves, that’s why we are supporting Time to Change. Having committed to the TTC pledge, this will be publicised through our open evening on April 25th 2013. |
