Pledged Employers

Bradford Forster Academy - BFA

Bradford Forster Academy is a student-centred place of learning, fully committed to providing all the students in its care with the highest quality of education.

At Bradford Forster Academy, we recognise that we would not be the good school we are, without the people who make it such an inspiring place for students to learn.

We have signed the Time to Change Employer pledge as we want to be proactive in supporting all employees to be the best they can be and maintain a positive, healthy mind. We know that our Time to Change champions will help to keep mental health and staff wellbeing high on our agenda so that every employee thrives.

Wonder London

Wonder is a multi-award winning brand experience and creative events agency, working with some of the world's largest, most innovative and forward-thinking companies including Google, Android, Deliveroo, YouTube, Playstation, Visa, BT, Epson and more, creating a sense of wonder together.

The Events industry is well known for being a stressful place to work, with high levels of burnout. Stats back this up with event coordinators being voted the fifth most stressful job (out of all jobs).  Along with a recent survey by Stress Matters (the pledge to reduce stress in the events industry)  - we know that 71% of events professionals believed their colleagues are suffering from stress. That’s just too high.

With an agency of 40 creative and passionate people we know that at least 1 in 4 will experience mental health issues, that’s why we are so driven to raising awareness of this issue and reducing the stigma around mental health.   Like all companies we are concerned about our employees well-being and we believe your health is the most important thing you have. We consciously promote and try many things to keep us physically and mentally well.  We have a running club, we reduce our working hours in the summer months, we have lots of social events.   But we want to do more and talk openly about mental health.

We know that opening up about mental health isn’t always easy. We feel the only way to help our employees to share and change how people think and talk about mental health in the workplace is to actively support how we change conversations.

In May we designed and created a weeklong campaign for Mental Health Awareness Week. During this week we asked people to volunteer to become Mental Health First Aiders.  Our Mental Health First Aider training reinforced our passion and drive to play an active role in normalising conversations about mental health. Post the training we created a Company Wellness Plan.   We then came across Time To Change Pledge and realised a lot of what we had detailed in our plan, matched and aligned with the commitment and activities in the Time to Change Pledge.

This has been the start of a journey for us.  We believe that by signing up to the pledge, our commitment and plan will make a difference to our employees and ripple out to family and friends.
