We are Time to Change, an ambitious, England-wide social movement which aims to end the stigma and discrimination faced by people with mental health problems. Time to Change is run by the charities Mind and Rethink Mental Illness, with funding from the Department of Health and Social Care, Comic Relief and the Big Lottery Fund.
We are looking for a very well organised ‘people person’ who has experienced mental health personally of whatever degree, and is now ready and able to use that to embed Time to Change as a sustainable campaign in the London area.
You will take over and deepen relationships with local public, private and voluntary sector partners, especially in our ‘Hubs’ in Kingston, Waltham Forest and elsewhere. You will also train and support diverse people who have personal lived experience of mental health to set up peer-led Champion Campaign Groups and deliver local anti-stigma activities.
The role is based at home with management and support delivered by email, phone, teleconferencing and face-to-face meetings. You will need to be able to structure your days, deal with setbacks and uncertainty. Manage competing priorities to achieve targets, while also managing your own wellbeing. This is a fast moving campaign so you must have the resilience to cope with uncertainty and be ready to work with colleagues to deliver quick solutions as situations arise.
We are working to achieve a diverse and representative workforce at all levels.
To avoid excessive Time Off In Lieu of overtime (TOIL) and manage costs, applicants must live in London or within commutable areas outside of London 30/45 minutes reach of a London mainline station to access excellent public transport links. We provide travel expenses.
The role is remotely managed and relies on relationship-building so is not open to job share.
This role has previously gone out for recruitment. For applicants that have applied before; we have your applications on file. Therefore there is no need to apply again.
