Who are Time to Change Nottingham?
We are a social movement aiming to change the way people think and act about mental health in Nottingham.
Partnership work is at the heart of our Hub's approach. Time to Change Nottingham is hosted by Nottingham City Council, but we work closely with partners such as local Time to Change Champions, the NHS Nottinghamshire Healthcare Trust, community and voluntary partners such as Self Help UK and local employers such as Nottingham Playhouse. Together, we are committed to combatting mental health stigma in our diverse local communities, particularly among men, and in local workplaces.
How does Time to Change Nottingham work?
Time to Change Nottingham was fortunate to become a Time to Change Hub between March 2018 and August 2019. Self Help UK were the community coordinators and built a network of Time to Change Champions in the community, and supported the development of the Hub's BAME campaign group.
Throughout this time, Nottingham City Council has worked closely with numerous local employers to develop mental health action plans, enabling them to sign the Time to Change Employer Pledge. Several of our community Champions have shared their experiences with local employers, helping them to develop Workplace Champions and set up men’s groups in the workplace.
