About this pledge
Bristol City Council is committed to improving the mental health and wellbeing of everyone in Bristol through the Thrive Bristol programme. We are proud to be a member of the Time to Change Bristol Hub. We believe by working together with employers across Bristol, we can meet our aim of becoming a city free from mental health stigma and discrimination and our role as an exemplar employer is essential to this. To demonstrate our commitment, Bristol City Council has placed wellbeing at the centre of its Corporate Strategy and we have mirrored this within our Organisational Improvement Plan.
Our employee’s wellbeing is essential to providing the best possible services to the people of Bristol. Our aim is to develop our working environment to enable everyone to perform at their best and to thrive. We are committed to encouraging openness around mental health issues, listening to staff and working together to create a healthy workplace for everyone where people feel confident that they have the support when they need it.
Our Time to Change employer pledge will form part of a new plan being developed to focus on the health and wellbeing of our workforce where we intend to work together with all staff, including those harder to reach places or those with protected characteristics to enable everyone to support health and wellbeing improvements in their working environment.
We plan to sign our pledge on Time to Talk day, February 2019.
