About this pledge
Development Initiatives (DI) is an international development organisation that focuses on putting data-driven decision-making at the heart of poverty eradication.
Our vision is a world without poverty that invests in human security and where everyone shares the benefits of opportunity and growth. We provide rigorous information to support better decisions, influence policy outcomes, increase accountability and strengthen the use of data to eradicate poverty.
Employee wellbeing and wellness is a priority for DI, and we go the extra mile to understand and support people’s passions and interests both at in work and beyond. Tackling stigma and discrimination and developing a culture where employees feel able to talk openly and transparently about any mental health problem is the right thing to do and makes good business sense.
Almost one in three people have experienced mental health issues while in employment, and we want our employees to have an improved awareness and understanding of mental health at work, how it can affect others and for them to be confident in supporting their colleagues who may be experiencing a mental health problem.
Committing to all the actions outlined in our plan will broaden an individual’s view of what mental health is and will align with work we are already doing on transforming our culture.
