I have suffered with mental health in varying degrees for the past 20 years. Due to a catalogue of circumstances and situations my depression and anxiety has become severe and I have had to seek professional help. Although I do feel and have felt embarrassed and ashamed by my illness. I know I shouldn't, I'm still a human being the same as everyone else. I long for the day when I don't feel I have to cover or hide my condition or its symptoms for fear of judgement.

I suffer with anxiety but It wont stop me being a role model to students. I also had severe depression from being bullied up until the age of 17. I'm currently about to finish my PGCE and I discussed Social Anxiety during mental health week to aid teachers. I know how to control my anxiety and I know what impact/causes they have but there are so many people around us who are unaware. Do not let an anxiety attack ruin your life. Anxiety doesn't just go away, it's about handling it and having support around you. You're stronger than this.
