What cover is provided?

The Time to Change public liability insurance provides cover for accidental injury to members of the public, or accidental damage to their property. Our products liability insurance provides cover for accidental injury or accidental damage to property resulting from products supplied. For full details, and the limits of liability, please see here.

What activities and events are covered?

Time to Change Champions do lots of different activities to change the way people think and act about mental health. For more information on what kinds of events and activities are covered, please see here.

How do I get the insurance and the insurance document?

To be covered by Time to Change you will need to:

1. Be registered as a Time to Change Champion in your community

2. Have completed social contact training (face-to-face or online here)

3. Register your event on the Time to Change map

To receive a copy of the insurance document, please email us on champions@time-to-change.org.uk with details about your event and a completed risk assessment form. If you're not sure how to do this, check out the information on health and safety documents, and have a look at this example of a completed risk assessment form.

If you meet all the criteria and have sent us your risk assessment form, we will send you the insurance details. Please note this may take up to 5 working days.

Where does cover apply?

Most Champions organise activities and events in places like a local community centre, a park, a pub or a supermarket. For more information on where Time to Change cover applies, and who is liable for what, please see here.

What other requirements of the insurance are there?

When you organise an event or activity, you need to plan, manage and monitor the event to make sure that other Champions and the visiting public are not exposed to health and safety risks. For more guidance on risk assessments and planning, please see here.
