The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will meet several of our young Time to Change Champions at Mind in Harrow on Saturday 10 October - World Mental Health Day.
Our young Champions have been central to our children and young people’s campaign, and have delivered training in schools so that staff and students get to hear people’s real life stories. The young Champions also helped create materials for secondary schools to use to run their own Time to Change campaign.
Helping to build an awareness and understanding of mental health problems is a major priority for both the Duke and Duchess. The Duke recently took part in an anti-bullying workshop run by The Diana Awards charity, and the Duchess visited The Anna Freud Centre in London to continue her work on the mental health of children.
Paul Farmer, CEO of Mind, which is a partner in the Time to Change campaign along with Rethink Mental Illness, said:
“We are delighted that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will be joining Mind to celebrate this year’s World Mental Health Day. Their support will shine a spotlight on mental health and we hope it will spark conversations in households across the country, amplifying the vital message that it’s time to talk about mental health. We hope it will encourage people to think about the little things we can all do to make a difference to anyone experiencing a mental health problem.”
