BalloonsSo much happened in 2011, with Time to Change being awarded new funding, enabling us to plan 3 ½ more years of anti-discrimination work. We've been privileged to work alongside some inspirational people in 2011 - we’re looking forward to working with you all in 2012.

Here’s a taster of what will be coming up from January onwards - until then, wishing you a safe and restful festive season, and a peaceful new year.

Time to Change Champions

We’ll be looking for more people with experience of mental health problems to lead and shape Time to Change’s work in 2012. Check out our leadership pages for more information about how people with lived experience play a leading role in the fight to end mental health discrimination.

Grants fund opening in January

The Time to Change grants fund is opening in January 2012, and will distribute £2.7m over three years to approximately 75 community projects led by people with lived experience of mental health problems. This is the first time we’ve awarded grants of this scale and we’re looking forward to supporting local communities to actively challenge stigma and discrimination in innovative ways.

Take part in our advertising campaign

  • The award winning TV ad, ‘it’s time to talk’, will be back on your screens from 9th January and three new radio ads will be played stations across England for five weeks. As well as TV and radio, you’ll also see new cartoon strips, based on the TV ad in the Metro and the Sun newspapers. Check it out on this site from 9th January

  • You can also make a pledge to talk - we know that talking about mental health can sometimes be awkward so we’ll be providing some tips on how you can start your conversation. We’ll be releasing results from a new survey that looks at how often people are really honest about how they’re feeling, and we’ll be keeping in touch with all our pledgers over the course of 2012 with new tools and opportunities to get involved.

  • Support the campaign in January by running activity in your area using our free materials from the shop. We’ll be launching a new event toolkit in the New Year with advice and ideas for people who want to run small scale events in their communities.

Join our children and young people’s panels

We’re looking for young people and parents to sit on two advisory groups that will shape and guide our work with children and young people. Find out more on our jobs pages
