We've been talking about mental health today on ITV's Daybreak, national radio and at 1pm, two of the stars of our TV advert took part in a live web chat.
ITV's Daybreak
Our media volunteer Hattie spoke about her mental health experiences for ITV's Daybreak programme, in particular about how her mum reacted to her mental health problems. Despite finding it hard to understand at first, Hattie says "We have talked about it a lot in the last few years and she's much more open about it now."
Time to Change supporter Derek Martin (who was Charlie Slater in Eastenders) spoke about the support he gives to his son David who has depression. Dr Hilary Jones also talks about the Time to Talk, Time to Change message.
Our survey results released today, reveal that most people in the UK know someone who has experienced a mental health problems, which highlights the fact that most people will have a friend, family member or colleague who might need their support.

The campaign features inspiring stories from people with mental health problems – and the friends and loved ones who have been there for them when times got tough. We want people to realise that you don’t need to be an expert to be a friend and start a conversation about mental health – the little things can really help.
