How does Time to Change Buckinghamshire work?
Time to Change Buckinghamshire’s work to end mental health stigma and discrimination includes:
- Proactively campaigning to improve attitudes and behaviours towards mental health
- Embedding anti-stigma and discrimination work locally, including in schools, workplaces or other community settings
- Putting people with lived experience of mental health problems at the heart of our work
- Bringing together partners to coordinate activities to empower people with lived experience to speak out about their experiences.
Our main areas of focus are:
- Men
- Children and young people
- Perinatal mental health
- Buckinghamshire businesses/employers
How can I get involved?
Anyone with lived experience of mental health problems can get involved by registering to be a Time to Change Champion. There are lots of opportunities for Champions to get involved within the community via:
- Having conversations about mental health with the people around you – whether that’s your mum, a mate or the postman
- Running a Time to Change activity, this could be in a cafe, train station or at work
- Telling your story online or in the media
- Speaking up when people say stereotypical or damaging things about mental health
