The Time To Change Surrey organic Hub complements the county’s anti-stigma campaign, Time To Change Surrey which has been running for five years, coordinated by local charity Let’s Link.
We have created a vibrant Hub Partnership group with 28 - 30 organisations (and growing) in Surrey participating alongside individuals and our mental health champions – all people living with mental health problems or carers. The Time To Change South East Community Equalities Coordinator attends when possible and our membership goes across the equality and diversity spectrum.
The Hub meets bi-monthly and is hoping to look at applying for official Hub status later in 2018. Members benefit from networking and sharing information and we are currently collaborating on a project that invites colleges and youth groups in Surrey to create a Performing Arts piece to highlight young people’s mental health.
As part of the Time To Change Surrey project, we are just about to film a You Tube video that tells ‘Anna’s’ Story. This will launch end March beginning April. The story is part of a short play based on a real story that Acting Out Productions perform. Acting Out Productions which is part of the charity run by the Hub and Time To Change Surrey coordinator performs live dramas, based on real stories, to show people the impact mental ill health has on individuals and those around them.
