BT have yesterday become the first national corporate sector organisation to pledge their support to Time to Change and promote the campaign to all employees.
BT's Chief Medical Officer Paul Litchfield signed the pledge along with Time to Change Director Sue Baker, at an event in BT Centre in central London where members of the Time to Change team spoke to staff about the campaign and encouraged individual employees to pledge to help end mental health prejudice. Many employees spoke of how supportive BT has been as an employer of people with mental health problems, and we hope that BT's commitment to tackling discrimination will encourage other firms to follow suit.
BT are promoting Time to Change messages in internal communications in the lead-up to World Mental Health Day, and running taster sessions in the on-site gym to encourage staff to get active for their mental wellbeing throughout Time to Get Moving week.
For other employers who would like support and guidance around dealing with mental health in the workplace, Time to Change offers a range of online resources.
