Commenting on Andrew Tate's recent statements about depression on Twitter, Sue Baker OBE, Director of Time to Change, a mental health campaign run by charities Mind and Rethink Mental Illness, said:

"It's disappointing to see depression, which affects so many us, being trivialised in this way. People from all walks of life experience depression, a serious and sometimes debilitating mental health problem.

"We know that making light of mental health problems fuels misunderstanding and stigma. We encourage everyone to think twice before judging someone with a mental health problem; it can have a lasting and damaging impact."
