Sue Baker, Director of Time to Change, the mental health anti-stigma programme run by Mind and Rethink Mental Illness, said:

“Team GB hurdler, Jack Green has today spoken out about his experience of depression and he’s not alone. In the last few weeks we’ve seen other people in the public eye sharing their experiences including England Cricketer Jonathan Trott and John Woodcock MP.

“It’s encouraging to hear that Jack has received so much support from the British Athletic staff, showing another good example of a sporting organisation who has provided support to their athletes. We are encouraging all sports bodies to focus on mental health, just as we are with employers from all sectors.

“We thank him for speaking out about his problems and wish him all the best for his future sporting career.”
