Before work today, just prior to mid-day, I enjoyed a delightful relaxing swim at my local pool. The water was soothing and warm.

As I swam, I periodically watched the attentive swimming instructors competently teaching their numerous primary school charges. I reflected on the joy I felt as a school child, when first learning to swim during my primary school sports lessons. I then recalled my mother and Step-father's enthusiasm while taking swimming lessons at their local swimming pool for the first time, as pensioners. And lastly my son's initial swimming lessons experiences as a toddler, here at my local swimming pool.

I am so glad that I chose swimming as my pledge.
