My best friend makes life with BPD more manageable

Having a personality disorder is not fun or smart. In fact, some days I wish I would wake up and it would just be gone - I would be me again without all these thoughts and emotions. 

My journey has been a long painful one. I’ve never been close to my family and I got burned by too many friends to keep them - so it was just me most of my life.

It's not an "excuse" - BPD is a challenge I face everyday

I was starting my first year of University and I thought it was going to be a fresh start to my life. It wasn’t like that. My past problems followed me and continue to overtake and confuse me. I was unhappy most of the time, and when I thought things were going well, another obstacle threw me off the rails of happiness.

Once I was told that I have borderline personality disorder (BPD), everything clicked into place, as if it was the missing piece of the puzzle as to why I acted the way I did with my mental health.

Having borderline personality disorder (BPD) can be both challenging and confusing. Due to the stigma surrounding personality disorders, I was too embarrassed to tell anyone. I was scared that I would be judged and abandoned by people. This can be isolating as trusting to talk to somebody is extremely hard.
